Sobre Viver is a Brazilian feature film produced independently between 2019 and 2021. The production brings a musical context, with reference to films such as A Star is Born, Whipash, This Is Us and others.

Brazilian music is the main reference for the film, with bossa nova being the central style.

Sobre Viver – Soundtrack

When talking to directors Ananda Karenina and Tami Stampini, in addition to the soundtrack for some scenes, diegetic music was also requested. One of the compositions would be the song that Raphael, the main character, would study to play at an audition. This song was quite challenging because it was supposed to bring an emotional charge in the bossa nova style.

In total, 18 songs were composed for the film, three of them diegetic. Composing for this film was a very pleasant experience because I am passionate about creating in different styles of Brazilian music. But it was also a very challenging experience that required an immersion in the story to understand the emotional aspects present in the plot.
